New Chelsea is a small sustainable farm operated by Andrew and Michelle Casad. Andrew is employed full-time as the Director of Liturgy and Catechumenate at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill. Michelle is a full-time doctoral student in Cell Biology at Duke University. Originally from California, we moved to North Carolina for work, study, and to be able to have land where we could raise animals. We moved to our land in 2006. The name of our farm is taken from Chelsea, the area outside of London where then Sir Thomas More moved in order to get some distance from court life, raise his family, and have a place for prayer. New Chelsea is part of our neo-monastic community.
